Visits Details

17 Jul 2016 (Stephen Harris)
I’m with a work colleague who is a first time visitor to Brussels. We meet in here to compare notes for tomorrow’s meetings over a couple of beers and some cheese.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Orval - Orval6.20ExcellentClassic, pale, dry, Trappist Abbey beer.
Liefmans - Frambozenbier4.50GoodThe waitress warned me I would find this way too sweet after the Orval. It was sweet, but refreshingly so and the beer finishes dry. Alarmingly pink.
15 Oct 2012 (Stephen Harris)
I used to be a frequent visitor here when I was a more-regular business traveller to Brussels than I am today. The Tartan Army is in town for tomorrow’s international football match and everywhere is packed, including this little bar. Not the longest beer menu by Belgian standards, but a chance to catch up with a couple of favourite beers.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Westmalle - Dubbel7.00ExceptionalWonderful, rich, dark, strong, full-malt, Trappist beer.
Moortgat - Duvel8.50ExcellentClassic, strong, hoppy, Belgian pale ale.

The pub is found in Brussels, Belgium, 1000.

A lovely, small, ‘brown cafe’ type bar in Brussels city centre, which claims a foundation date of 1695. Intimate and cosy. Not the easiest place to find, as it is hidden up the tiny cobbled alleyway of Impasse St. Nicolas, off the bottom end of Rue Marché aux Herbs.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 4 different beers and tried them all.
