14:00 visit. Back in the late 80's & early 90's this forest pub was once a freehouse and run by a real ale enthusiast and this where my love of real ale was born. The pub then was basic with a very strong local trade mainly farmers, the pub offered good honest pub grub but it was the ales where this pub excelled :) Wadworth approached the landlord of the time with an offer he could not refuse and bought it off him. Today the pub is a busy food led pub that serves the usual Wadworth range of ales plus Ringwood Best. Unfortunately the brewery completely changed the layout of the pub inside and although they made a good job the pub lost its rustic local charm, such a shame :(
