Quite busy, mid-evening on a Saturday. The food looked and smelled good, but I remained at the drinking end of the pub.

The pub is found in Gloucester, Gloucestershire, GL1 2NW.

There seems to have been a pub present on this site since at least 1455, with earlier names including Savage’s Inn and the Catherine Wheel, before it settled in to the Fountain name by the seventeenth century. Today the pub retains vestiges of its coaching inn layout, with an alleyway access from Westgate Street and buildings set out on two sides of a courtyard. One large bar space, divided into dining and drinkers areas.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 8 different beers and tried 2 of them.
