12:00 visit. My reason for being here today. This first winter beer festival had been planned for sometime, and since then, a good friend of CAMRA, Ralph Cryer, sadly passed away very suddenly. Over 250 people attended his funeral on 03rd August. I, like many others, knew Ralph for many years around the b/f scene. Today, a lot of people here paid tribute to our Ralph. With a few specially brewed festival specials laid on, in a fitting tribute to our good friend, we raised our glasses and I'm sure Ralph would have been looking down upon one of his favourite festivals, and cheering us all on....R.I.P Ralph.

The pub is found in Loughborough, Leicestershire, LE11 3DB.

This first winter beer festival, held at the traditional venue of the spring event, is found close to the town centre. The Polish Club has one main hall with a stage area and a smaller room off with a serving hatch for freshly cooked food. Plenty of seating and tables and a purpose made bar area to one side with stillaging for over 70 Real Ale & Ciders. Loughborough, amongst other facts, has the oldest community of Polish people in the UK. This local club is dedicated to that fact and the walls are adorned with many pictures depicting Polish nationalism and their country's leaders.

We have visited this pub once, seen 68 different beers and tried 16 of them.
