Early evening, pleasantly quiet. Some talk of wonderful beaches in Cambodia.
Dark Star - Six Hop | 6.50 | | Left this one to last - full of complex flavours - my first "exceptional" rated beer - even though I only had a 1/3. Wonderful. |
Dark Star - Revelation | 5.70 | | Getting overtones of violets. |
Gun - Pale Ale | 4.60 | | Subtlety fruity |
Bad Seed - Dalliance | 4.00 | | Dry and light. |

For a half. |

Noon - first one in - and my first pint of the weekend. The heavy rock music was incongruous - by not too loud.

18 Jun 2016 (Jack William)
Early Saturday evening - fairly quiet - just a quick visit so only noted a few of the beers on.
Fyne - Long Beech Blvd | 5.40 | | A "smoked pale ale" - I didn't take to the smokiness at all - best to leave it to the dark ales where it can complement rather than dominate I think. |
Wishbone - Blonde | 3.60 | Not Tried
Wishbone - Boilerplate | 5.70 | Not Tried
07 Jun 2016 (Stephen Harris)
I came in here to pick up a little pub crawl where I left off a week ago. Holly was playing the piano. I’ve truly lost count of the number of pubs I’ve walked into and found Holly playing the piano.
Wishbone - Abyss | 4.30 | | Not a brewery I’m familiar with. This is a rich, black Stout that drinks above its ABV, but which soon fell flat in the glass. |
Orbit - Werk | 5.60 | | From a keg, and it must have been an old-fashioned keg because it turned out to be quite heavily carbonated. But really good hop flavours to compensate. |
Fyne - Vital Spark | 4.40 | Not Tried
Kent - Clerkenwell Pale | 3.80 | Not Tried
Salopian - Divine Comedy | 3.90 | Not Tried

Salopian - Sienna | 4.40 | Not Tried
30 May 2016 (Stephen Harris)
Fifth and final pub on a pub crawl along and around White Lion Street (sadly the White Lion itself is long-closed). Saving the best until last.
Fyne - Titan | 4.20 | | Amber-coloured and hoppy. Very tasty. |
Tempest - Harvest IPA | 6.70 | | From a key-keg. A clear, golden IPA with Belgian yeast flavours. |
Fyne - Maverick | 4.20 | Not Tried
Kent - Clerkenwell Pale | 3.80 | Not Tried
Salopian - Divine Comedy | 3.90 | Not Tried

14 May 2016 (Jack William)
Late afternoon - quiet enough to discuss the copious selection.
Salopian - Hop Twister | 4.50 | | Grapefruit citrus notes - delicious. |
Hop Studio - Elder | 4.80 | | Very disappointing after the Hop Twister. More rhubarb than elderflower. |
