This is the busiest of the three Herne Hill pubs I visit this-afternoon. Good to discover that brewing is again taking place at this attractive pub, by an outfit called Craft Academy.

Late afternoon and Friday evening trade is beginning to build. The in-house brewery (which had been used by both Florence and Head in a Hat breweries) is not currently in use.

Large Victorian pub with its own brewery. A single central bar serves two home brewed and two guest beers, one of which is normally from the new owners, Greene King. Seating is a mix of high benches and low level sofas with a few normal height tables. After Greene King took over the venue they permitted the in-house brewery to continue. Metropolitan Pub Co. is a Greene King pub brand. There are eight handpumps on the bar.
