14:00 A cock-up on my part. There was some confusion about our next stop after the Tobie Norris and I managed to lead half the party here. Barmaid was very helpful and told us the quick route to the Jolly Brewers which involved using a passageway at the rear of the pub. Bit rude to leave without having a drink so we stayed for one.

A well-known real ale house, where I note that I am the only person actually drinking the stuff during my lunchtime visit. Sales are clearly good though as the condition of all three I try is perfect. A steak and chips lunch for £5 sets me up for the day.

Busy with a good crowd of customers. The barman informed us that he had some other beers waiting to go on sale, and that he could put them on for us if we wished. We decided that the range on offer was perfectly good enough for us, and we could drink those rather than leave him with too many ales on sale at once.
