A sunny afternoon and (apart from the juke box) it was quiet inside with a number of customers enjoying the sunshine in this pleasant canal side location. The juke box which was not being played kept self selecting awful loud music so I moved to the little bar on the left which was much quieter. I left after one pint but would have stayed longer had I known that my planned train was cancelled. In the end I just walked to Bletchley.

Friday evening, the weather was unpredictable so the decision to drink inside rather than outside was unanimous. A proper wet led canal-side pub in idyllic surroundings.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Thwaites (brewed at Banks's) - Wainwright (please now use the Banks's entry)4.10GoodThe last few pints from one cask, then more from a fresh one. All were very good.

Busy immediately from noon opening. This is the pub of choice ahead of football at Milton Keynes, despite being a good walk from the stadium (the stadium itself being surrounded by the sort of retail hell best avoided).
BeerABVScoreNotes
Flack Manor - Hedge Hop4.90GoodGood, full-bodied Best Bitter with British hop flavours. I didn’t see the need to switch from this choice.

Busy lunchtime session in the run up to football at nearby MK Dons. Many of us outside by the canal, marvelling at Britain’s most pointless lock – which has a rise of just 6 inches.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Wadworth - 6X4.10GoodThe best pint of 6X I have drunk in a long time. Traditional, fruity bitter.

Three or four locals in, talking about football. After they had gone I chatted to the landlady about beers. Nice friendly pub.
