Marston's - Bass4.40ExcellentNot as full bodied as I remember but the condition temperature and flavour was excellent with the froth clinging to the glass all the way to the finish. Is this what's called 'lacing'?

Evening visit prompted by ChrisE's visit the previous day and how it easy it was to find outside the railway station. Spent some time looking for bullet holes both outside and inside to no avail. Very nice right hand wood panelled bar.

The first pub of the day, a small group of us were doing a tour of CAMRA Regional Inventory pubs that are close to the new orbital route of London Overground railway stations. Our first visit, and we were made very welcome, I look forward to making a repeat visit sometime in the future.

The pub is found in Hampstead, Greater London, NW3 2SB.

Situated within sight of Hampstead Heath railway station in South Hill Park, this is a two bar pub with a virtually intact 1930s room on the right. The item of historical interest is that Ruth Ellis, the last woman to be hanged in the UK, shot her lover outside this pub on Easter Sunday 1955. Reported sold by Punch Taverns into private ownership in summer 2014. Closed in February 2016 after the lessees failed to secure a long enough lease. Re-opened May 2021.

We have visited this pub 6 times, seen 9 different beers and tried 3 of them.
