Stansted Airport is very busy on a Friday evening, and inevitably my flight to Edinburgh is delayed a bit, so I hole-up in here.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Conwy (Bragdy Conwy) - Riptide4.30ExcellentAn enjoyable Black IPA.
Shepherd Neame - Birrificio Foglie d'Erba Hot night at the Village5.00ExcellentA tasty Brown Porter.
Provenance (Hydes sub-brand) - California Red Ale5.20GoodI could not see the word ‘Hydes’ on the pumpclip (it is there actually) so struggled to identify whose beer I was drinking. A strong Red Ale with some hops.
Oakham - Attila7.50Not Tried

A fairly brief visit whilst awaiting a flight to Edinburgh. The upstairs area is quite rowdy with various stag groups heading off to foreign parts in their team T-shirts. Only two cask beers available – the rest being marked ‘Available Soon’. I’m usually a bit sceptical about this sort of thing, but I noticed that by the time I left they had all become available.

Everards (see entries against Joule's & Robinsons whilst its new brewery was being built) - Bagby Back Garden4.00AcceptableFestival beer. Golden and a bit ordinary I thought.

Off to Strasbourg - only way to kill time really. Rather boring choice of beers. Usual airport buzz - although this was rather more spacious and not as crowded as I feared.

Mid-evening. My flight to Edinburgh is delayed by two and a half hours and this pleasantly-revamped pub provides much more comfortable seating than the public areas. Full of advertising to say that the Weatherspoon beer festival starts today – but no sign of any actual festival beers (or of festival prices).

14:00 visit. En-route to Poland, rude not to call in and "tick" this one off? Crammed full here, Brit's getting there last "fix"... With an Airside pricing policy on all products, and a coffee and a cola at double the normal prices, I did not linger longer than necessary....

I didn't have a beer as it was 8.30am and anyway the beer line up was hardly impressive.

The pub is found in Stansted Airport, Essex, CM24 1QN.

Initially a walk through Wetherspoon's in the departures lounge of Stansted Airport. Completely rebuilt in 2015 as part of the revamping of the departure area. Now considerably larger and located on two levels at the opposite end of the waiting area from its previous location. Recognition of the revamp of this pub came quickly, with the 2016 award of "Best Airport Bar in the World" at the Food & Beverage awards in Zurich.

We have visited this pub 6 times, seen 16 different beers and tried 7 of them.
