Stopped in for lunch and very nice it was too! Restaurant area was full of diners on a Friday lunchtime and a few drinkers established in the bar already.

What a cracking pub! 2 hours walk along the Coventry canal all seemed worth it once I arrived. Absolutely full on New Year's day and it was a squeeze getting to the bar. Sat out the front and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Will return for one of their beer festivals (although I'll probably get a cab...).

Riverhead - Sleigh Hammer6.00ExcellentFantastic condition, perfect cheeky little livener for New Years Day. Strongly hopped IPA, I liked it.

It is a lovely spring day and the pub is crowded. A Spring Beer Festival is in progress, with 25 beers over five days. I find many familiar faces here, as this is the pub of choice before football at Coventry City; the stadium being just 25 minutes walk away along the canal towpath.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Acorn - Tarnlife4.50ExcellentA classic in-your-face, straw-coloured, Yorkshire pale ale – enhanced by excellent Cascade and Centennial hops. I did not see a need to try any of the other beers on sale.

The pub is found in Coventry, West Midlands, CV6 6DF.

Although technically in Coventry, this pub is a good five or six miles from the city centre and only inches away from being in Warwickshire – if it stood on the other side of the canal, it would be in Bedworth. Owned by the Canal & River Trust, the pub stands at the junction of the Coventry and Oxford canals and it is both a scenic and a formerly-industrial spot – the two not being mutually exclusive. Once a small pub, it has expanded into two neighbouring terraced cottages since originally being built in the 1830s. There are many outside tables at the front and a large garden to the rear, served by its own ‘Whippet’ bar.

We have visited this pub 3 times, seen 12 different beers and tried 3 of them.
