My dalliance in the Clapton Hart means I’ve missed a couple of pub crawl halts, but I catch up with some of the expanding group in here and then call it a day after this pub. Not over-busy in here tonight and a nice place to linger.
BeerABVScoreNotes
London Fields - Shoreditch Triangle IPA6.00ExcellentAmber-coloured, lush IPA.
Hop Kettle (Cricklade & Swindon Breweries) - Heather Beehiving Badly7.80AcceptableDeep amber in colour. A very sticky, heavy, honey beer. Friends loved it, but not really my thing.

The CAMRA pub crawl group has grown to around 16 in number and we fill-up the standing space at the front of this pub.

Nobody should ever feel remotely nostalgic for the terrible old days of Clapton’s ‘Murder Mile’, but it is still amazing to see a pub at this address, just 24 months on from the Hackney Riots, that is so unashamedly upmarket and so obviously thriving.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Five Points - Railway Porter4.80ExcellentSmooth and silky. Cocoa powder tastes with a bitter finish.
Five Points - Five Points Pale4.40ExcellentGolden, full-bodied, hoppy and bitter.
Five Points - Red Rye6.00Not TriedRan out.

Re-opening night for this pub which is transformed from dodgy Clapton keg-beer boozer to real ale and food focussed destination pub. Unsurprisingly, it was very busy.
BeerABVScoreNotes
East London (ELB) - Pale Ale4.00GoodPale, malty and bitter.
Five Points - First Brews No. 2 – Red Rye6.00GoodRed and sweet, with a rye edge. Well-brewed and characterful beer, but too sweet for me, so I’m limiting myself to ‘good’.
