Lunchtime and busy with diners inside and outside on the terrace, we sat outside and enjoyed beers and sausage rolls. There were two cask ales on when we arrived and four by the time we left.

Of the five pubs in Pangbourne, I chose this one for a lunchtime refresher on the grounds that it is the only one with river views. Unfortunately, the riverside terrace was ‘full’, and clearly earmarked for diners only. So I sat in the cool of the inside. Overall, a disappointing visit.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Greene King - Morland Original4.00AcceptableBranded here as house beer ‘The Swan’, the barman thought it was actually Morland Original. A rather bland, brown beer – served over-cold.

The pub is found in Pangbourne, Berkshire, RG8 7DU.

At heart an ancient inn, with a claimed foundation date of 1642. It is much modernised inside, but still has low, wooden beams and vestiges of a multi-roomed layout. Majors on providing food to customers who arrive by car, but there is a comfortable area set aside for those who wish just to have a drink. Has a Thames-side terrace and is very handy for the railway station.

We have visited this pub 4 times, seen 8 different beers and tried 5 of them.
