A major cycle race is taking place around Smithfield Market and has attracted a crowd in excess of 10,000. It is bonanza time for the many pubs in the area. We manage to squeeze in to this one between races for a plastic cup of goodness.

The pub is found in Smithfield, Central London, EC1M 6HR.

This pub has been present at the edge of Smithfield Market since at least 1839 and was originally called the Red Cow, and traded for a while in the 2000s as the Wicked Wolf. The pub was rebuilt in its present form in 1871 and is typical of pubs in the area, with a single, deep bar behind a narrow street frontage. Pub closed and boarded-up by June 2015. Reopened in 2018, having been sold by Punch Taverns, after significant building development and with a new name.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 2 different beers and tried 1 of them.
