Mid afternoon fairly quiet until our group arrived, we decided to occupy the empty beer garden on a mild dry day hence leaving a couple of locals propping up the bar to carry on enjoying the peaceful relaxed atmosphere there.

Adnams - Southwold Bitter3.70ExcellentSome of my friends were a bit surprised that I ordered this but I just fancied a decent traditional bitter and that is exactly what I got, delicious.

12:00 First stop on a chum's 57th birthday pub crawl. Seven of us and a group of locals soon made the pub look busy. My first visit here and I was very impressed with the breweriana on display.

A fine old pub which I find my way to all too infrequently. Just a modest number of customers (three and a half, according to the Guv’nor – in reality around ten) in mid-afternoon. I had to do a double take when one started regaling us with tales of seeing the Who play last night at Hyde Park – defiantly a different bloke to the one at the Cricketers a couple of hours earlier.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Georges - Saxon Gold4.00ExcellentGolden beer with good English hop tastes. Dryer that the Mighty Oak beer that preceded it.
Mighty Oak - Summer Dancer4.50GoodGolden. Slightly sweet. Good hop content.
