A fairly light Friday lunchtime trade. Staff debating the correct spelling of ‘delicious’ for their outside chalk-board.

Portobello - Market Porter4.60PoorBrown, sweet and fruity, bordering sour. Definitely not right.

My first visit to this pub, which is often overlooked, standing as it does between the very popular Trafalgar Tavern and Cutty Sark pubs. It is much bigger inside than I expected. Not at all busy at around 7pm on a Sunday evening. Only one real ale available. 10% CAMRA discount.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Marston's - Pedigree New World Pale Ale (2013) (Superseded by later 3.8% version - see separate entry)4.00GoodA rather odd mix of tastes. This pint exhibits a strong Burton Snatch, somewhat at odds with its fruity, new world, hop tastes. An intriguing mix.

The pub is found in Greenwich, Greater London, SE10 9NP.

Historic riverside pub which has possibly the longest-standing licence of any pub in Greenwich. The Prime Meridian runs through the pub building. The pub was largely rebuilt following World War Two bombing and presents quite a narrow frontage on to Crane Street. Inside there are two large bar areas, with extensive window views onto the Thames, but no riverside garden or terrace.

We have visited this pub 3 times, seen 8 different beers and tried 3 of them.
