BeerABVScoreNotes
Burnt Mill - Beyond The Firs4.80GoodAlmost too precise in its execution.
13 Sep 2018 (McGargle)
Busy after a 'meet the brewer' with North Brewing.
BeerABVScoreNotes
North - Hit the North7.50AcceptableA Brut IPA collaboration with Northern Monk. Not quite what I was expecting, a little residual sweetness and the appearance of a NEIPA. Tasty enough but.....
St Bernardus - Abt 1210.00PoorA long time favourite in bottle this draught example disappointed. It lacked the depth of flavour and creamy, evaporate on the tongue mouthfeel.
08 Mar 2018 (McGargle)
We came for the Partizan tutored tasting and had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Thanks to all involved.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Partizan - Cascade Mosaic IPA6.00ExcellentTwo of my favourite hops in a clean, well focussed IPA.
25 Oct 2017 (McGargle)
Too many customers, not enough staff = big queues.
BeerABVScoreNotes
six°north - Hopocrisy4.60GoodCrisp.
six°north - Ella6.00GoodCollaboration with Fierce and Basque. With roasty grain and limited hops this drank more as a stout than a black IPA.
Cloudwater - Session IPL Citra El Dorado4.00PoorTasted fresh with restrained hoppiness. Smelled of eggy farts. Ugh!
17 Mar 2017 (McGargle)
Surprisingly quiet.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Metalman - Pale Ale4.30PoorWay over carbonated. Masked any character.
Boundary - American Pale Ale3.50PoorThin and uninteresting.
08 Sep 2016 (McGargle)
Always a pleasure coming here. Friendly, informed staff and a great selection of (mostly keg) beers. Food well worth a try.
BeerABVScoreNotes
six°north - Chopper Stout7.00GoodA rich, full bodied stout on keg dispense.
Dark Star - Hophead (some has also been brewed by Fuller's)3.80AcceptableThis was darker and less elegant than the cask equivalent. Overly fizzy and disappointing.
six°north - Hopocrisy4.60AcceptableDisappointing again. Was hoping the sample from the Marine was off. Seems not.
17 Feb 2016 (McGargle)
Friendly, enthusiastic service.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Wild Beer Co. - Fresh5.50PoorIt wasn't.
29 Jan 2015 (McGargle)
Late evening and still busy. Excellent, informed service.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Beavertown - Holy Cowbell5.60ExcellentSmooth, rich and flavoursome stout (keg).
06 Nov 2014 (McGargle)
All the craft bars seemed quiet tonight.
BeerABVScoreNotes
De Ranke - XXX Bitter6.00ExcellentExtra bitter version of one of my all time favourites; XX Bitter. Very aromatic, crisp and elegant. (Keg)
16 Oct 2014 (McGargle)
Very busy but the staff made the time to make you feel welcome.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Kernel (The Kernel) - Cascade7.20GoodCloudy, fresh, single hop beer. Didn't drink to its strength and, by Kernel's high standards, it didn't stand out. (Keg)
