Lunchtime after visiting the very impressive Arundel Castle, stately home and gardens - the family home of the Dukes of Norfolk - it seemed appropriate to come here subsequently. Ongoing gin and craft beer festival that didn’t have many takers at 1 pm. I only noticed two real ales from barrels in the yard as I was leaving - they may have been a bit warm at 29 degrees in the shade with only water jackets to protect them.

Evening. Only the hotel bar open tonight. Very personable barman served me and stayed until the pint was emptied.
