12:35 This pub has been on my list of ones to try for some time. Greene King owned but free of tie. Sadly, I was disappointed. The beer quality was far below my expectations.

I arrived just a few minutes past noon on a Saturday, thinking the pub might be a little quiet – but it was not at all, with plenty of customers in. A notably friendly welcome from the barman, who, when he saw me eyeing the crisps selection, drew my attention to the pie and a pint for £4 offer, of which I took advantage.

The pub is found in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP33 3JU.

This pub lies in a residential street, about ten minutes walk from Bury town centre. Effectively all one bar, but split into two distinct areas. There is a quite spartan area in front of the bar and a more comfy, carpeted area to the side. CAMRA East Anglia Regional Pub of the Year for 2013.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 10 different beers and tried 4 of them.
