01 Aug 2019 (Philip Pirrip)
Mid evening visit. Almost put off by recorded rap music emanating from the pub as I entered the market area, but persisted and had a good chat at the bar about the new Young's pumpclips pretending that Bedford beer was London beer.

Late evening visit thwarted by being told at the door the pub had closed early having had no customers for two hours. Of course if you get a reputation for closing early then people go elsewhere. Chicken and egg.

Evening until midnight close. Rather older clientele than elsewhere tonight and all just trying to talk over superfluous loud music.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Truman's - Runner4.00ExcellentDarker in colour than I recall. Best example of this beer I have had, so a second followed the first
Wadworth - Horizon4.00Not Tried

Evening.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Marston's - Wychwood Hobgoblin4.50PoorLiked this no more than last time I had it when Wychwood first started brewing it. Dark Ruby ale. Can not understand why it is so ubiquitous as it seems so home-brewish
Sharp's - Doom Bar4.00Not TriedRan out
Marston's - EPA3.60Not TriedRan out as mine was pulled. Very pleasant barman handled this professionally with discussion of the good and bad experiences of the last one out
Greene King - Gangly Ghoul4.20Not Tried
Greene King - London Glory (superseded by 4.1% version)4.00Not Tried
