Superb local pub, landlord behind the bar and landlady in the kitchen. food is excellent, fresh cooked, varied menu and specials board. Mixed grill for £16 is fab. Beers - 5 pumps, Upham Punter, GK IPA, Woodforde Wherry, Tribute, Humpty Dumpty. Well kept by a landlord that clearly cares. An oasis in a local desert, not in the CAMRA GBG down to a technicality (truth be known, down to a mistake by the local committee). There is nowhere else to drink locally.

The pub is found in Thetford, Norfolk, IP24 2BP.

In Magdalen Street, a one large L shaped room with remains of former walls defining three distinct areas, dining room at rear. The bar itself has an unusual feature. The superstructure has a miniature peg tiled roof with faux rafter feet. The pub is beamed and wainscotted. An attractive cast iron pillar supports a roof beam where a load bearing wall has been removed. There is built in seating and some good cast iron table bases. Bullards mirror over fireplace. 5 handpumps.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 6 different beers and tried 4 of them.
