I came here on the opening night and quite liked it, but loudspeakers have been placed all along the walls only a few feet apart, and there was nowhere to sit without being blasted with Slade's Merry Christmas so we left without buying a drink.

Too busy near the bar to get a pint. Several beers had a plastic cup over them and no beers were replaced. Seems that these 6 beers will be permanent fixtures. At least they dont turn the pump clips around so you dont know the beers are not on.

This was the pub's opening day, so there was a considerable amount of local interest, and plenty of staff behind the bar often assisting each other whilst getting used to the tills, etc. I was pleasantly surprised with the pricing structure with cask ales ranging in price from £1.99 to £2.95 per pint, and the food offering including such delights as Fish Finger Butties for £2.99 or beans on toast for £2.80. It will be interesting to see how this place develops.

The pub is found in Maidstone, Kent, ME14 1SA.

A new pub opened on 29 November 2013 in the premises formerly occupied by the Kentish Bank, which was formed by John Brenchley in 1793. The premises have been opened out to form one large bar with comfortable seating. Whilst there are a couple of amusement with prizes machines at one end, there are no music or television screens to interfere with one's enjoyment of one's pint.

We have visited this pub 6 times, seen 10 different beers and tried 3 of them.
