Evening visit around 19:00 hours, the bar was empty and no cask beers were on so I left and got myself a reservation on the 19:10 to Kings Cross.

Thirty minute train connection, so I pop in here for a quick pint and to use the facilities. I appear to be the only customer. I didn’t note the cost of my pint (in view of the previous entry here) but I’m pretty sure I got change from £4.

19:30 Train running late so I thought I'd come in here for a swift half and use a working gents, the station ones being partly out of order. I ordered a half and was asked for £2.50. I said "What. That's £5 a pint." The bar man checked and confirmed the price. I replied "I am not paying that" and walked out.

Smartish hotel bar in Station Approach, directly opposite the railway station. Originally a railway hotel it was sold by British Rail in 1982 as part of the privatisation process. The front bar is now called the "Sleeper's". 3 handpumps.
We have visited this pub 9 times, seen 10 different beers and tried 5 of them.
