Evening. Warm welcome but no real ale so Arthur Guinness provided sustenance.

About the Sun in the Sands

The pub is found in Blackheath, Greater London, SE3 8UQ.

In Shooters Hill Road right by a Blackwall Tunnel approach road access junction roundabout. Formerly a rare Younger's (of Edinburgh) house. Being right next to this large roundabout the pub has a claim to fame by its regular mention on London road traffic reports for hold up delays on the Blackwall Tunnel approach road. Some years ago half of the pub was totally partitioned off into separate premises and is now a café. No real ale but there are three unused handpumps at the far right hand end of the bar strangely isolated and facing the partition wall of what is now the next door building. Planning permission given in summer 2021 for additional residential but public house to be retained.

We have visited this pub once, seen 0 different beers and tried them all.
