Just after noon. Already busy with a number of customers in the sunny front paved area. Very pleasant staff - and I was given a fascinating paper map (used as a dining place mat) of the area in the 14th century. Stone - and Rye - were both islands at this time.

I always find this a little bit cliquey, and as so often happens the only lager drinker in the pub was sitting right in front of the pump clips so we could not see the ABV of the house beer. Apart from that a very nice boozer.

We came for a meal, and sat in the restaurant area, which I don't think was part of the pub when Wally Milsted was Guv. Still plenty of maps on display.Busy with diners and drinkers on a Friday evening.
