Afternoon visit and fairly quiet, we had a good chat with the guv about the local area. I had a good look at the vintage Rotomat amusement machine on the wall. It was the first time in my life that I have seen stools at the bar with Reserved signs placed on them which was a good indication of the need to escape to the peace and tranquility of the nearby Jerusalem Tavern when the FIFA cup match was on television.

I met up here with Dave R after work and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. This was our second attempt to come here having given up on one evening a few months ago when the place was just too crowded for comfort; but fine weather tonight has allowed for overspill into the nearby churchyard.

My first visit here, a nice warm cosy open plan pub. I sat and tried to work out from the position of doors etc., how many bars and corridors there must have been in here at one time.

Evening. Was looking for Kings of Clerkenwell but that name not in use anymore. After 10 and only customer in until joined by several others from a previous shared event just down the road. Very informative and friendly licensee. A pub I just did not know existed before.

The pub is found in Clerkenwell, Central London, EC1R 0DY.

A very long-established pub that was originally called the Three Johns, before becoming the Oxford Arms in 1774 and then the Three Kings from 1783. The pub was rebuilt in its present form in 1871 with the exterior tiling added in 1938. It is a curved fronted house in Clerkenwell Close - for a while called Kings of Clerkenwell but this has now reverted to Three Kings. One bar with 4 handpumps. Superbly polished linoleum floor. Smaller upstairs function rooms. Limited opening hours at weekends. Rare to see a turntable and vinyl being played here. Fine Mann Crossman and Paulin window. Meals provided.

We have visited this pub 4 times, seen 7 different beers and tried 4 of them.
