My first visit here. The architecture is very much in the Watney style. A good traditional pub, shame about the music being played. I was disappointed to see a modern dart board instead of a traditional East End one.

Late lunchtime and quiet just a dozen or so customers dotted about. The centre bar has been opened out to the rear bar since my last visit thus losing its exclusivity.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Timothy Taylor - Landlord4.30GoodPerfect temperature and the usual hop flavours one expects from this beer..
Sharp's - Doom Bar4.00Not TriedDon't recall seeing this in the East End before.

Mid-evening and the pub is busy with Isle of Dogs residents (as opposed to City workers).

Evening. Great to see a multi-room survivor. Used the saloon first and then moved to the public for a second beer. The public was buzzing with a ladies' darts match.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Timothy Taylor - Landlord4.30GoodDid not seem quite so chilled as the London Pride and was delicious

Smart, traditional pub which retains a three bar layout. I chose the Saloon Bar (as always here), which was surprisingly quiet ahead on the England match on TV.

Mid afternoon visit to this traditional docklands pub and not a suit in sight. Conversation difficult due to music playing at full blast!

The pub is found in Docklands & Isle of Dogs, Greater London, E14 3ND.

Ex Watney House, Docklands survivor, still displaying Watney Combe Reid external signage from the 1980s. Imposing street corner pub in Glengall Grove with Crossharbour DLR station nearby. Has kept its three distinct rooms with a public bar with an East London 5s board darts oche and 4 handpumps. The well appointed saloon bar, with 4 handpumps, has a highly decorated cornice with green leaves and red berries motifs. A restaurant area in a glazed single storey extension leads off of the saloon. Between public and saloon bars is a snug called Ma Baker's Bar (believed to have originally been an office licence facility) with 2 normally unused handpumps.

We have visited this pub 7 times, seen 5 different beers and tried 3 of them.
