Early evening after a 17.00 opening (see my report on the Areonaut). Already a few in and a bit of action around the brewing vessels. During our stay a fire was lit giving a smokey atmosphere. There were other keg beers.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Dragonfly - Early Doors4.30Excellent
Dragonfly - Dark Matter4.30Excellent
Dragonfly - Achtung!5.00AcceptableOn keg. Very murky and described as a London Weisse. Work in progress I would say.

Evening. I had been subpoenaed to visit by a friend who had visited at lunchtime. I nearly walked straight out seeing all the food on the front room tables but pleased to find an atmospheric bar at the back with the brewery vessels visible. Comforting smell of a wood burning fire.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Dragonfly - 2 O’Clock Ordinary4.00ExcellentIn beautiful condition and a well balanced yet tongue rasping bitterness

Early lunchtime visit ahead of the rush. I’m again impressed with this pub. It’s a nice, old building and interesting and innovative use has been made of the space.

I missed the launch party for this new pub-brewery last week, but spent a pleasant lunchtime session in here with Robert S on Bank Holiday Monday. Pub very quiet. An impressive set up.

The pub is found in Acton, Greater London, W3 9DJ.

A high street pub that was established in around 1759. The pub has had a rather chequered recent past, as an Enterprise Inns house and latterly as a free house, with periods of closure in between. It re-opened in May 2014 as the home of the Dragonfly Brewery. The bar counter has been removed from the woody front bar and a new one set up in the high-ceilinged former function room at the rear. This room also houses the gleaming brew-plant. Subsequently Portobello Brewery has operated from here on the former Dragonfly plant. Open fires in winter. 6 handpumps. Discount for card carrying CAMRA members on real ales only.

We have visited this pub 4 times, seen 8 different beers and tried 4 of them.
