After leaving bitterly disappointed from my visit from the pub just across the road I entered here with trepidation, wow! What a contrast, the pub is heaving with both locals and holiday makers, the bar staff are friendly, very efficient and above all, engaging with banter and chat. Proper pub vibe, Sunday roasts flying out the kitchen, dogs lapping at water bowls after long walks and people drinking beer, brilliant! Just go easy to show what people really want from a proper English pub.

17:30 Group of locals sitting by the bar. Few tourists came in and we ended up talking to an interesting couple from the Wirral. I took the opportunity to try Doom Bar as the brewery is just the other side of the river.
