We did not come here with particularly high hopes. No sign of any home-brew, our questions eventually being answered with “the word brewery in the name relates to the fact that we sell beer from Meantime, a local brewery”. We also received a telling off for taking our pints upstairs: “we do not serve ale in the upstairs area”. Not sure how likely I am to return, given the circumstances. They did have a pretty good range of beers on though.

The pub is found in Smithfield, Central London, EC1A 9DY.

A large pub in former bank premises in WEst Smithfield, which opened as the Heads and Tails in 2008, becoming the Distillers by 2011. Revamped and re-opened as St Bart’s Brewery (they seem uncertain as to whether Bart’s has an apostrophe or not) in June 2013. The word ‘brewery’ appears several times on the exterior of the pub and there is some copper brewing equipment in the window. It is not a brewery (neither was the former incarnation a distillery). A high-ceilinged main bar space, with most tables laid for dining and more tables on a mezzanine floor.

We have visited this pub once, seen 4 different beers and tried 1 of them.
