Enforced stop due to wrapping a discarded fender and rope round the prop of our narrowboat. Sorted and in the pub before 12 - result. We had a reasonably priced, good lunch - and just got in before the pub got crowded with a bus party and others.

In a hamlet just outside Chirk Bank it was formerly called Poachers Pocket. Recently extended and refurbished, a standard large Marston's eating house right on the Llangollen Canal - bridge 19.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 4 different beers and tried 2 of them.
