A very good atmosphere in here today. I met an old friend who used to drink in Maidstone many years ago and whom I did not recognise at first.

Time for a pint whilst waiting for a bus. I met someone who I had not seen for a good many years and we chatted about past times and old friends. Four beers were on sale but I forgot to make a note of them.

I intended to have a pint and get the (very early) last bus to Ashford, a number of friends were in here so it was a missed bus and on to Folkestone for a train.

late afternoon - just a couple of others in. First micropub I have been in without a climate controlled "cellar". My pint seemed to suffer a bit as a result.

A true micro pub. We were made very welcome, the landlord talked to us about many aspects of the licensed trade including glass washing machines and availability of discounts from large breweries. Two barmaids from the landlord's previous tenanted pub came in to see him so I presume he must have been a good employer.

Evening after 8. Walked right past first time as no front fascia signs have been erected yet. Mislead by another website that it was open until 9 every evening, in fact it had closed at 7. The hours on the door today are: Closed Monday; Tuesday 1030-1800; Wednesday to Thursday 1030 to 1900; Friday and Saturday 1030 to 2100; Sunday 1200-1600.

The pub is found in Hythe, Kent, CT21 5JR.

At the extreme east end of the High Street this is a Micropub which opened as a small corner shop (previously a cafe/bistro) conversion on 12th September 2014 selling cask ales and ciders on gravity dispense from jacket cooled casks. There is a single handpump which is connected up sometimes. Service comes from behind a highish former shop counter. Along with this come all the usual Micropub ideals.

We have visited this pub 10 times, seen 25 different beers and tried 16 of them.
