Early evening about 5 - still here due to crew change day - the narrowboat hasn't moved but we have. Pub was under stress - not coping with the onslaught of customers - half the menu "off" as well as well as two of the beers from yesterday. Not sure how they will cope with a sunny Sunday tomorrow - won't hand around to find out.

Friday evening - very busy in the garden - we sat inside in comfy leather chairs after a 10 hour stint from Newbury (17 locks).
BeerABVScoreNotes
Camden Town - Pale Ale (keg)4.50GoodDespite 5 ales on none really took my fancy after the Bomabadier experience. Camden Pale (on keg) hit the spot ok - hoppy and refreshing. Like to try this on draught sometime.
Eagle (formerly Wells & Young's, formerly Charles Wells, formerly Wells) - Bombardier (was Bombardier Glorious English) (use Eagle entry now please)4.10PoorFlat and lifeless.

A quick lunchtime pint, having eaten not here, but at the café across the road. Not the sort of pub in which I feel very comfortable – yet it is clearly very popular.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brakspear (at Marston's Wychwood) - Oxford Gold4.00PoorI did not like this beer, which had an odd, vanilla-like sweetness, and I could not finish my pint.

The pub is found in Burghfield, Berkshire, RG30 3RB.

A large, attractive, part-thatched pub that stands beside the Kennet & Avon Canal a little outside of Reading. Not as old as it at first appears, the pub having been rebuilt following flood damage to its predecessor. There is a giant car park and a very large garden. Two extensive dining areas within, separated by a small but comfortable bar area. Corporate, chain pub feel.

We have visited this pub 3 times, seen 8 different beers and tried 4 of them.
