Cycling group meeting at lunchtime. Disappointed to find only Master Brew on tap. Landlord bemoaning the lack of trade and massive increase in utility bills. Not sure why as a Freehouse he chooses Sheps. Good turnout of our group, a jolly time nevertheless.

Lucntime. The conservatory was full with a 'bit of a do' lunch with about 25 people. Half a dozen others in. A good rural pub with a nice feel to it.

The pub was holding a beer festival to coincide with the Steam Rally was in a nearby field. It rained most of the day so everyone was inside the pub. In the garden they had 7 beers on gravity and a hog-roast.

Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 73.80AcceptableThe beer I saved. Slightly cloudy giving it a starchy feel in the mouth. Rich and slightly cloying with melon and strawberry flavours hiding underneath.

Not very busy but then it was only a late afternoon. The piped music was some kind of Irish patter and the pub had a proper smugglers feel to it and by that I don't mean in a quaint kind of way I mean that it had a marsh side edge.
BeerABVScoreNotes
House Beer - Half Moon and Seven Stars0.00AcceptableAn anonymous house badged beer that was dark with a slightly hoppy but smooth edge. An odd one

The pub is found in Preston, Kent, CT3 1EB.

Deceptively large pub in The Street and by the engravings on the windows this was once a Rigden's pub. One room has a pool table and there is a conservatory at the back laid up for food. The main room has plenty of tables, a real fire and a low beamed ceiling.

We have visited this pub 4 times, seen 13 different beers and tried 4 of them.
