Quiet in here. Barman and customer discussing the universe and somehow Hitler got involved!
BeerABVScoreNotes

Good atmosphere and with the dark wood it actually feels very Germanic and welcoming. Good to see a Joule's pub with a decent selection of guest ales.

The pub is found in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, ST5 1RE.

Charming, old-fashioned pub in the town centre, the oldest in Newcastle, dating from the 14th Century; beware low beams when entering. The bar is on the left of the entrance, whilst the right hand side forms a cosy snug. Very much brightened up by the new management team; although under the ownership of Joule's, four of the guest beers will come from other breweries, whilst the fifth will be the Joule's seasonal ale.

We have visited this pub 4 times, seen 16 different beers and tried 7 of them.
