Found out new ale hub opened here yesterday, micropub no 8. Long walk so stopped here on the way. Nine ales on! Heaven. But all so ordinary and £4.50 a pint. No dark or strong. Getting to be a pattern. Ramsgit tomorrow where they give you what you want. Within reason! Will we make the new micro with such an attractive beer selection here? Lol.
BeerABVScoreNotes
St Austell - Proper Job4.50AcceptableWarm. Totally uninteresting. Lady had to pull off some of each beer to see what colour it was!
Hop Back - Taiphoon4.20AcceptableWarm as toast. No flavour. But drinkable. Lynnes description not mine. Sad. Pub smells of food.

Well worth the stomp to the far end of town for a good selection of ales in a comfortable and welcoming proper pub atmosphere although the food emphasis was noticable with faint smell of cooking oil wafting freely.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Castle Rock - Elsie Mo4.70ExcellentA blend of First Gold, Aurora and Bobek hops give the beer its delicate citrus aroma and floral taste.
Hop Back - Spring Zing4.20GoodPale gold, light bodied with a dry hoppiness balances fruity sweetness. Long aftertaste.

There was fervent anticipation amongst the group on our way to this unknown to me much celebrated pub thus upon arrival I could see why. Many bemused fascinated locals made us feel most welcome aided by the jovial and efficient bar staff.

My New Year’s resolution to keep out of pubs was going well until around 12:15 when I saw this place and became their third customer of the year. Glad I did go in, it’s a great pub. I don’t think I quite noted the full range of beers available.
