13:30 Made up for previous disappointments. Lovely pub, friendly staff, good beer, good food. Had a conversation with other customers about suet pudding and its role in accompanying roast dinner and then appearing as "afters" with Golden Syrup. A visit was also made to the historic bridge.

The pub is found in Homersfield, Suffolk, IP20 0ET.

Large brick built building next to the River Waveney. Originally built as a lodge for the son and heir of the owner of the nearby Flixton Hall (now demolished) to entertain his London friends it became a pub to serve passing trade on the main road (now diverted). The pub has a central servery with five distinct areas surrounding it, including three bars, a pool room and a restaurant. The small lounge is a gem, fully panelled, open fire, hatch bar, leather seats, copper topped tables, and a collection of antlers. Just down the road is the Grade II listed bridge over the Waveney, the first reinforced concrete structure in Britain (1869).

We have visited this pub once, seen 3 different beers and tried 2 of them.
