16:15 Busy. None of their own beers on! Landlord/brewer recognised me from the Norwich Beer Festival and came over for a chat. The lack of beer was down to a wild yeast infection in a brew of the Lightweight. He had tapped one and left it soft spiled and it was still working. I asked for and got a taster.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Waveney - Lightweight3.90ExcellentI am judging the wild yeast version rather the proper one. The beer was superb. Excellent condition and clarity. Dry. Only negative factor was lack of body as full fermentation was under way. It had the characteristics of a geuze. The Silver Fox was sweet in comparison.

Traditional village pub. L shaped bar, 4 handpumps, several drinking areas, real fire, piano. Pump clips on ceiling above bar show the various guest beers. Red tiled floor. Excellent traditional village local. Pool table in a side room.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Waveney - East Coast Mild3.80AcceptableVery deep ruby, lasting beige head. Very choccy, velvety, milky aroma. Decent condition in mouth, smooth, velvety choccy mild, some sweetish damson fruit. It's certainly tasty and smooth, some dryness on end. Little bit one dimensional. Little bit of toffee.

Busy village local with an old world feel to it. The pub is home to the Waveney brewery.
