17:30 Yet another new pub for me. Great Guvnor, advising us about other Newark pubs we must visit. We discussed the new Civil War Ale Trail leaflet which has ten pubs in all. We will be using it as a basis for a future crawl.

Evening. Had walked right past earlier even though looking for this new pub. Look out for the "keys cut" sign on North Gate. Lively atmosphere even though it was towards closing time.

The pub is found in Newark, Nottinghamshire, NG24 1EZ.
Located in the cellar of an easily missed building just set back from North Gate. Strangely the entrance requires going up some external steps to then descend into the pub. Various regular events and live music. Closed in early summer 2018 and re-opened under new ownership in late July 2018.
We have visited this pub 4 times, seen 15 different beers and tried 5 of them.
