For a Friday evening it is pleasantly uncrowded in here. Dave and I both find a beer we like (he is on the TEA) so we abandon pub crawl plans and settle in here for a session.

Saturday and I suspect that this pub was about to get busy. There were some appetising Scotch eggs on the counter but I managed to resist the temptation to have one.

The pub is found in Canonbury, Greater London, N1 3PB.

A large pub at the northern end of Essex Road. It has retained a three room layout, albeit with some of the room divisions removed. The back room is primarily for dining. Much wood-panelling on the walls and an old Charrington’s backlight on the bar-back. There is a rear garden, and some pavement tables at the front. Reopened April 2021 with new name.

We have visited this pub 3 times, seen 6 different beers and tried 2 of them.
