Lovely proper pub, lots of wood panelling, dark wood and cream walls. Central bar. Had a good time with the landlady trying to work out where to put the new emergency exit sticker they had just bought.

Second pub on Ian and my tour of the East Sussex train line. ...and a superb pub. Wood panelled pub with a central bar splitting the 2 rooms. This is the kind of pub that you’d expect to find Kenneth Williams in getting drunk on rum (if he wasn’t dead). I was pleased to see that the graffiti in the toilets was in Latin proving that education's not dead in the UK. I’d love to come here in deep winter and sit and drink strong beer all night.

Central bar with upto 4 real ales on. Slight bohemian feel, good buzz on conversation on a Friday night, without being noisy.
