Visits Details

26 Mar 2015 (HSB)
11:30 Went to York to see Sir Winston Churchill's funeral train. Mission accomplished went on a pub crawl. My first visit here, comfortable interior, reasonable beer choice and friendly staff. We found out that the old Nicholson loyalty card system has been discontinued and replaced by the Hop Circle app which I duly used for a discount.

The pub is found in York, North Yorkshire, YO1 8QN.

Magnificent Georgian building in the city centre. Occupies the site of the Roman Praetorian gate which was the main city entrance. Impressive moulded high ceilings. The pub fittings are all new in a faux Victorian style.

We have visited this pub once, seen 7 different beers and tried 1 of them.
