14:50 7th stop and first pub to be a potential addition to the Heritage site. Very busy downstairs so we had the upper room to ourselves. The beer was expensive even with the CAMRA discount.

The pub is found in Marylebone, Central London, W1U 1EL.

Built in 1813 and still with some original features, especially the unusual ceiling with wooden square frames each with a downward pointing boss at each junction. The bar counter appears to be of great age but has some joins in it which would suggest it has been shortened or moved at some time. Upper room seating. Unusually the pub is signed for the former Simonds brewery of Reading that was taken over by Courage in 1960.

We have visited this pub once, seen 4 different beers and tried 1 of them.
