Early evening and very busy. A large proportion of the current beer festival list beers were available by gravity or through the pumps.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Shepherd Neame - Hop County4.80AcceptableServed by gravity and as flat as a tattie scone. Some hop and caramel character coming through.
Elgood's - Hen in Black4.50PoorA thin and bitter Porter. An unpleasant sour edge.

The last pub on the Ratebeer Edinburgh crawl. Most of the people I was with didn't like this pub much, but I thought it was ok, better than the average Spoons.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Strathaven - Old Mortality4.20GoodRuby, lasting beige head. Good deep malts, soft, drinkable. Decent malt toffee, coffee, milk choc, nice hop on end. Drinkable.
Sulwath - Knockendoch5.00AcceptableChestnut, lasting beige head. Some choc/coffee. Some rubber. Not a very good finish, but decent toffee.
Strathaven - Standing Order5.00AcceptableBrewed especially for the pub. Gold, lasting cream head. Attractive premium bitter, soft due to the sparkler, but decent hop/malt balance, hop is quite tasty and this went down easily enough
