Back for more fresh beer and Colombian food.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Howling Hops (Brewed at Hackney Wick) - Buckle Down5.00ExcellentFresh from the tank. Sherbety citrus and low bitterness.
Howling Hops (Brewed at Hackney Wick) - Free Fall7.30ExcellentFresh from the tank. Strong and hoppy.
Howling Hops (Brewed at Hackney Wick) - Desert Pary4.80GoodFresh from the tank. Apparently this beer should have been called 'Desert Party', but there was a typo in the graphics department.
08 Jul 2020 (Stephen Harris)
It's really good to be back here, as much for the food as the beer. Tables have been spaced out a bit and you have to give a name and phone number on arrival, but it seems to be pretty much business as usual. Quiet when I arrive but busy by 6pm.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Howling Hops (Brewed at Hackney Wick) - Wind & Sea Surf Club4.50ExcellentFresh from the tank. Clean, zesty, fruity. Quite dry.

Howling Hops (Brewed at Hackney Wick) - Toku3.80ExcellentFresh from the tank. I wasn't sure if I'd like this Apple and Ginger Sour, but actually it's great.

Howling Hops (Brewed at Hackney Wick) - Cut It Out4.50ExcellentFresh from the tank. Herbal Motueka flavours.
04 Feb 2020 (Stephen Harris)
Early evening. The usual staff are away for a staff party, whilst bar staff from the Cock Tavern have been drafted in for the night. This confuses me more than it should do.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Howling Hops (Brewed at Hackney Wick) - New Old London4.80ExcellentFresh from the tank. My current joint favourite London-brewed Porter.
Howling Hops (Brewed at Hackney Wick) - Roll On7.00ExcellentFresh from the tank. Thick and fruity.

BeerABVScoreNotes
Howling Hops (Brewed at Hackney Wick) - House IPA6.90Excellent

BeerABVScoreNotes
Howling Hops (Brewed at Hackney Wick) - House IPA6.90ExcellentFresh from the tank. I tend to overlook this beer when I am here. I shouldn't because it is great.
Howling Hops (Brewed at Hackney Wick) - Flashpoint6.20ExcellentFresh from the tank. More bitter than is typical for a NEIPA.
22 Dec 2019 (Stephen Harris)
A quiet Sunday evening session.

The pub is found in Hackney, Greater London, E9 5EN.

The Howling Hops Brewery was established in July 2012 in the cellar of the Cock Tavern at Hackney Central. Very cramped conditions limited output and the varied range of beers could generally only be found in the pub. June 2015 saw the opening of a substantially larger brewery in Queens Yard, Hackney Wick and the associated, large Taproom. This occupies a former industrial premises, with the brewery itself at one end and a large space occupied by trestle tables at the other. Outside seating is also available and there is also a kitchen and a café-style counter. Uniquely in London at present, all the beers are poured directly from the conditioning tanks. Nearly as unusually, beers are only sold in two-third pint measures. The brewery stands almost next door to Crate Brewery.

We have visited this pub 75 times, seen 88 different beers and tried 86 of them.
