Late afternoon into early evening, sitting at one of the outside benches discussing the emergence this-evening of Cockchafers and trying to remember the last time we had seen any of these once-familiar beetles.

I’m staying in Felixstowe Ferry for the weekend and we actually manage two visits here today, eating lunch in the garden and dinner in the restaurant area.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Adnams - Southwold Bitter3.70GoodA pretty decent brown Bitter.
Adnams - Ghost Ship4.50AcceptableNot at its best, with rather dull flavours. I’m not surprised to note that the barrel is empty shortly after I buy my pint.

I’m staying for the weekend with friends in Felixstowe Ferry. They live next door to this lovely old pub, so we manage two visits today. First sitting outside in the mid-afternoon, and then in mid-evening, honoured to sit at the ‘locals table’. Shame to see the Victoria Inn standing closed and forlorn a hundred yards away.

The pub is found in Felixstowe Ferry, Suffolk, IP11 9RZ.

A fine old pub, in parts dating from the 15th century, tucked behind the sea wall and close to the ferry. Several low-ceilinged drinking areas at various levels. Wooden beams, stone-flagged floor and a very high bar counter in the centre bar. Some sheltered outside tables at the front and picnic tables as a spill-over area on the village green. Function room at rear in modern extension. A Tolly Cobbold pub in its day.

We have visited this pub 3 times, seen 6 different beers and tried 3 of them.
