12:00 What Pub and the GBG were both out of date with food availability at the Buttercross so sadly left there and came here to eat on the Landlady's recommendation as the best option in town. Busy with a mix of drinkers and diners. Disappointed to find that none of the Real Ale Festival beers were on offer considering that it was the first day.

Evening. 2nd day of new barman's career here and he was struggling but customers were politely understanding. He'll make it OK.

The pub is found in Chippenham, Wiltshire, SN15 3WL.

A 2009 Wetherspoon's house in a striking building by the River Avon which is not easily seen from the road so may be difficult to find first time round. The main ground floor bar has 7 handpumps on its counter. There is an upstairs room primarily for dining but which doubles as a function room. Decked riverside seating outside.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 10 different beers and tried 3 of them.
