Mid evening visit. A corporate feel, for a Friday evening to have 2 of 6 handpumps with no beer on is a lack of care and the bar counter was piled with dirty glasses which turned my order from a pint to be for a half so as to depart quickly. In the right untied hands this could be a superb pub down by the quayside. CAMRA discount was not proffered by bar staff so I did not claim it.

1630 and very busy outside with mostly families on a rather cool summer's day compared to what we've been used to. We joined our group at an adjacent table by the river and it wasn't long before a food menu was plonked upon us which served as a useful tool for swatting the many wasps touting for a free drink. The interior tables were also laid up for diners.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Otter - Amber4.00ExcellentPale rather than amber for this refreshing zesty beer, unusual for the Otter range hence its provenance was much discussed.
Greene King - Abbot5.00Not Tried
Sharp's - Doom Bar4.00Not TriedA choice of two pubs here serving this so a good backup plan should one run out. It will save the long tedious journey to Cornwall unless the worse case scenario happened and they both ran out!

Quite a brief visit as I plodded upriver along the riverside path. Plenty of people here for lunch. 10% CAMRA discount claimed.

13:30 Very busy with diners, mainly sitting outside on the riverbank. Very friendly staff. I would like to come back on a winter's night. I think it would be very atmospheric with the wind and rain lashing against the windows. Turned out to be the best selection of beer for the day.
