Mid evening visit. I was somewhat confused and befuddled by the handpumps being on separate bars here but finally sussed the full selection available. An absolutely thriving venue, perhaps too busy however to get personal treatment.

Colchester - Double Drop Braggot4.00ExcellentEvery bit as good as at The Station Hotel earlier and again later!
Muirhouse - Mango & Passion Fruit Dark4.10GoodGood condition but honestly rather sickly, a half would have sufficed

We decided to leave the Rose And Crown after one pint and returned here where it was much busier being early evening. Our group took over a couple of the tables at the rear of the pub to which the staff seemed happy for us to occupy even though we were not dining. The four or so very efficient staff coped very well which kept waiting times at the bar to a minimum.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Viper (Mighty Oak) - Jake the Snake4.00ExcellentThis was new on, golden crisp and refreshing in fine form indeed.

Mid afternoon we caught up with our group who were just leaving for the next pub which left a half dozen or so customers dotted about. The rear of the pub was diner oriented laving the bar area at the front for drinkers.

Early lunchtime visit after a walk beside the River Colne. Considering the place has only just opened, it is surprisingly busy and getting busier by the moment. A nice pub with good service.

14:00 Lunch stop. Only two beers on, up to five at the weekend. Had the bar to ourselves.

Fat Cat - Wild Cat5.00GoodI am not a fan of Fat Cat beers as I normally find them a bit homebrewy but this one was OK.
