Not quite the Cambrian that I knew of old but still a splendid pub. I treated myself to a pork pie to accompany my pint. The town was starting to fill up with Beyoncé fans as there was a concert on later in the day.

I was keen to visit this pub but put off by my sub-standard pint. I was the only customer throughout my Sunday lunchtime visit, although I noticed a few in here when I passed again later in the afternoon.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brains - Black Mountain5.00PoorBlack, with a creamy head that soon dissipated. Billed as a Black IPA but tasted more to me like a slightly sour Porter, with negligible hop character. Perhaps it was just ‘on the turn’ – either way, it was poor.

The pub is found in Cardiff, Glamorgan, CF10 1AD.

Originally the Cambrian, a city centre pub established in 1830 and rebuilt in its present form in 1898. It is a small, street corner, single-roomed bar. Long associated with Brains Brewery – which used to brew next door – having been an Irish themed Kitty Flynn's for several years it has been relaunched as the showpiece bar for the Brains ‘Craft’ beer range.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 12 different beers and tried 2 of them.
